Small Grants - Up to $2,000 in support of SBS Faculty research. Also, limited funding available for foreign travel to research sites (at the discretion of the SBSRI Board).

Small Grant Extension Deadline: April 21, 2008 (see guidelines for specifics).

Oct. 30, 2007 Professorships – one semester of release time from teaching duties during AY 2007-2008 to conduct research. Awards are contingent on resource and teaching needs of applicant's department.
Oct. 30, 2007 Graduate Assistance Grants – supports research assistant at 10 hours/week (0.25 FTE) paid at the SBSRI GRA stipend level for one semester during Spring 2008 or AY 2008 - 09

Mini-Grants - Up to $750 in support of SBS faculty research. Deadline may be earlier than Apr 21, 2008 if funding in this category has been depleted – check before submitting a proposal.

Mini-Grant Extension Deadline: April 21, 2008 (see guidelines for specifics).

Apr. 2, 2008 Faculty Summer Research Grant Development Awards - $5,000 to work on producing a grant to an outside funding agency to be submitted to the outside agency no later than April 1, 2009. Attendance at all grant-writing workshops and draft review sessions is required.

Dissertation Research Grants - Up to $800 to support research by graduate students who will have completed preliminary exams and advanced to Ph.D. candidacy by award time.

Pre-Doc Graduate Research Grants - Up to $600 for Ph.D. and Master's level research. Up to five awards may be supported during each round of competition.
Apr. 2, 2008 Graduate Summer Research Development Awards - $1,000 stipend to develop a proposal to an outside funding agency to be submitted no later than April 1, 2009. Attendance at grant-writing workshops and draft review sessions is required.

General Grant Guidelines 

FUNDING
All awards are subject to funding availability, and all expenditures are handled through the SBSRI in accordance with University policies and procedures. See guidelines for specifics for each program.

ELIGIBILITY
Faculty: All SBS Faculty and Academic Professionals who hold at least .50 FTE, and who are tenured, tenure-track, continuing, or continuing eligible. Non-tenure track faculty who have been employed by SBS for 2 years may be eligible for Mini-grants. See guidelines for Professorships, Summer Stipends, and Proposal Development Awards for additional restrictions.

Graduate Students: Must be in one of the departments/programs in the College of Social & Behavioral Sciences. S.L.A.T. students should contact SBSRI Office BEFORE submitting a proposal.

Undergraduate Students: Must be sponsored by an eligible SBS faculty member. See application guidelines for specifics.

APPLICATION
Guidelines and application forms may be downloaded or are available in the SBSRI Office, Social Sciences 115C. Please be sure that you have obtained and read the current guidelines before submitting a proposal. Proposals are due by 12 NOON on deadline date. Incomplete proposal packets or proposals submitted after the deadline will not be reviewed.
